The route starts in Innburck, but getting there with two motorbikes takes a little time.
I rode from Berlin to Nurnberg, to meet at David's, and slept there.
I've got my new G 310 GS and David got his 1990 model purple Yahama Tenere 750.
Next day, we placed the bikes in the David's minibus, before driving to Innsburck, where we started touring.
We got some clothes, tents and the sleeping bags with us.

Innsbruck is a beautiful city on the Eastern Alps. We had actually found ourselves at a public concert in the centre of the city the day before; was great. We stayed at a hotel in Innsburck.
Being on the most western of the Austria's Alpine geography, Innsbruck is a wonderful gateway to the Alps.
We're good to go.
Day 1
In the morning, we rode through the Alpine landscape of Austria; passing the towns of Ötztal and Sölden, and the famous Timmelsjoch pass (aka Alpenstraße), ending at the Resia lake.

Timmelsjoch is a 2,474 metres Alpin pass, connecting us to Italy from Austria. It let us made a lot of practice with its curvy roads.
The road after the pass was crossing beautiful green Italian farms.

And the last one is the Reisa. A huge lake at the border of the Austria, Swiss and the Italy, The largest one above 1000 meters in the Alps. It's landscape immediately catches your attention in a thoroughly exciting way.
Click here for Reisa lake on Wikipedia.
After being on the roads most of the day, we thought the forest nearby Reisa would be a perfect spot to camp for the night.
By the lake, we have left the paved road, and rode through into the woods.
We did a bit off-road and found the nice camp-spot in the forest.

Where we had camped, along the view was the quietly interesting; the di Curon Venosta Vecchia compaline, submerged on the beautiful Reisa. :)
Had some sleep in the mountain air. As we were above 1500 m. altitude in the forest, the temperature was going nicely below 10 degrees C on a day of July.
DAY 2
Today, we woke up in Italy. Crossed the border to Austria; and, we were in Swiss, of where we were to ride and explore throughout the day.
The Swiss Alpine landscape is just amazing. We didn't check, but we felt we were in higher altitude in Switzerland. Rode all day in the beautiful landscape.
Wasn't on the plan, but we found ourselves camping at the Beverin natural park, nearby another beautiful lake; Sufnersee.
DAY 3
We started the day climbing. Wildly cold high-altitude lake of the Moesola was refreshing in the mourning. Rivers from the mountain ice were flowing into the lake Moesola.
We rode through the curves of the San Bernardino Pass topping at 2,066 meters.
After crossing all the mountain roads and the passes, we headed into the southern end of the Alps, the lowlands of the Italy,
The famous lake of Maggiore was just behind the Swiss Alps. Having been couple of days in the mountains already, now it was time to jump in to the lake, and chill a little bit.
When decided to move on, we rode more through the Swiss part the Maggiore; then we're in Italy.
The towns in the lowlands, is quite a lot more crowded.
We stayed at a hotel, near lake Como.
Day 4
We could go further north until the Mediterranean. Yet, the heat of summer in the lowlands of Italy told us to go back to mountain!
Italian towns are great for the food, the coffee and cheer. We prefer the nature of the mountains. Gonna head back to mountains today.
Rode through the towns of Italy in the lowlands until the amazing alpine big-town of Merano. Later, we rode into the hearts of the Alps, crossing the San Marco pass at around 2000 meters, and the Stelvio pass at 2,757 meters of altitude.
San Marco is a beautiful surprise. Not much people on the road here. Pure fun.
Stelvio is the highest of the Eastern Alps, and the second highest in the Alps. The nature magic is all about that.
We camped today in the woods, just after the Stelvio pass.
Day 5
Day to go back to Innsbruck.
We drove north to the Jaufen Pass aka the Passo di Monte Giovo. We are back to high Alps again, after yesterday’s crosses.
After a long farewell ride in the mountains, we are in Innsbruck again. Packed the bikes into the minibus at the sunset, and also drove back to Nurnberg this day.
